Effective July 6, 2021 and until further notice, the Government of Indonesia (GOI) has notified that it will implement new entry, exit, and quarantine requirements for all foreign nationals traveling to or from Indonesia. The GOI will also implement stricter travel requirements for domestic travelers as listed below. For the full range of restrictions, please visit the GOI’s COVID-19 task force page.
New restrictions for international travelers include but are not limited to the following:
- International travelers, currently with no written distinction for children, entering Indonesia will be required to show proof (a physical or digital vaccination card) of full vaccination against COVID-19.
- International travelers, including children under 12, will need to show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours (3-days) of travel to enter Indonesia.
- International travelers will be required to quarantine for 8 days and undergo 2 PCR tests during this period—on the first and seventh days of quarantine.
- All expenses are to be paid by the traveler.
New restrictions for domestic travelers include but are not limited to the following:
- Domestic travelers, currently with no written distinction for children, and specifically those traveling between the islands of Java and Bali, either by land, air, or sea will be required to show proof (a physical or digital vaccination card) of one dose of vaccination against COVID-19 in addition to existing testing requirements.
- Domestic air travelers, currently with no written distinction for children, will also need to show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of travel (2-days).
- Those traveling by land or sea can provide a negative antigen test taken within 48 hours of travel (2-days).
- All domestic travelers to Bali require negative PCR tests or antigen tests (depending on mode of travel) issued with QR codes or barcode.
Please note, as with similar regulations in the past, these rules are evolving, are subject to change, and are subject to varying interpretation by authorities. We will do our best to provide updates in a timely manner.
