Ambassador Blake Speaks to Workshop on Good Governance

On May 19, US Ambassador Robert Blake addressed the opening session of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KEMLU) Indonesia-Africa and Middle East Technical Cooperation Program on Good Governance.  The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), supported the workshop as one of the initiatives between the US, Indonesia, and third countries under the South-South & Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) agreement signed between Secretary of State John Kerry and Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa in February 2014.  Officials from Liberia, Mozambique, The Gambia, Egypt, Tunisia, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Madagascar, and Yemen as well as the Palestinian Territories are attending the week-long workshop to exchange ideas, information and, experiences among themselves on the following issues and challenges: government reform; delivery of public service; increasing accountability; and eradication of corruption.
