On April 30 Ambassador Blake spoke to a group of around 120 students and faculty at Binus International University in Jakarta on “The United States’ Entrepreneurial Economy.” His remarks touched upon the history of entrepreneurship in the United States, the impact of disruptive technologies on society, and how innovations can reshape the marketplace. The Ambassador recommended that the students pay particular attention to learning how to manage human resources, developing their financial awareness, and adopting an entrepreneurial mindset that is not deterred by initial failures. He encouraged Binus students to consider continuing their graduate studies in the United States, where a culture of innovation and top quality universities would empower them to return home with the knowledge and skills needed to build a business and help develop the economy in Indonesia.
