Ambassador Outlines USG’s Concrete Measures in Support of Women’s Empowerment at Launch of NGO

During a panel discussion to launch the Women for the World Foundation (NGO), the Ambassador highlighted the USG’s six major initiatives supporting women’s empowerment in Indonesia: improving access to education, promoting participation in STEM fields, improving access to health care, promoting legal rights and reducing gender-based violence, and boosting entrepreneurship programs.   The Ambassador’s fellow panelists included the Swedish and French Chiefs of Mission to Indonesia and a former UN Special Ambassador.  Rosa Rai Djalal is the founder and president of this NGO that provides education and job training for disadvantaged women throughout the country.
