The Ambassador spoke about urgent challenges facing cities in the United States and Indonesia, and he praised three innovative Indonesian leaders for creating technology-driven solutions to improve the delivery of public services. Panelists included Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil, Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal, and Bayuwangi Regent Abdullah Anas. From installing free wifi hotspots to a building a Star Trek-inspired urban command center, each told their story of harnessing technology to improve good governance and accountability.
