On August 26, Ambassador Blake met with students and faculty from the Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa (UTS) department of biotechnology. Sixteen UTS students will travel to Boston in October to compete in the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGem) competition. The Ambassador highlighted the importance of STEM technologies in combatting global problems and emphasized the United States’ commitment to growing people-to-people ties with Indonesia through faculty and student exchanges.
