Celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week

On November 20, Deputy Chief of Mission Kristen Bauer hosted guests from the Indonesian government, the diplomatic community, academia, foundations, venture capital firms and local entrepreneurs at a reception in honor of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) and coinciding with the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) being held in Marrakech, Morocco. Deputy Chief of Mission Bauer remarked on the steady growth of entrepreneurship infrastructure in Indonesia, noted the ever-increasing number of Indonesians at GES this year, and urged the attendees to continue their work after the parties and summits of this week are over.  In addition, the winner of the Embassy-organized “elevator pitch” competition, a training session and business concept pitching contest to encourage emerging entrepreneurs, was recognized at this event.  The winner, who wants to establish a day care center enterprise, won a mentoring session with an Indonesian business lawyer.
