Consulate General Surabaya Hosts U.S. Alumni Networking Reception

The U.S. Consulate in Surabaya hosted an alumni networking event for Indonesians who studied in the United States including USG-funded alumni on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the U.S. Consulate, in partnership with the US Alumni Association of Surabaya. Around 350 alumni attended the event, bringing together leading business, intellectuals and community members. The networking event was an opportunity for alumni to share their experiences as students in America and begin the process of further developing the alumni network in Surabaya.

In 2015, the alumni community will work on developing networking, professional development, social responsibility and mentoring future alumni.  The U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya is pleased to be able to meet, work with and support alumni from American universities. Supporting education and cultural exchange is a pillar of the comprehensive partnership between Indonesia and America. The American college experience is unique and for those who have studied in America, it is an opportunity to meet and network here in Surabaya.

The U.S. Consulate also previewed the EducationUSA Fair on February 8, 2015 from 13:00 – 18:00 at the Shangri-La Hotel. The free fair for interested students in Surabaya will feature more than 20 universities from the United States. EducationUSA is a free education advising organization for study in the United States and has special advisors and centers around Indonesia supported by the Department of State.
