Deputy Chief of Mission Promotes US-Indonesia Education Cooperation

On November 6th at Atma Jaya Catholic University, Deputy Chief of Mission Brian McFeeters described many of the ways that Indonesian universities can work with the U.S. Embassy to promote education domestically, and also outlined opportunities to study in the United States. He introduced Embassy resources including EducationUSA, American Corners, English Language Fellows, the English MicroAccess program, and learning programs at @america to the audience of more than 30 university administrators. He further highlighted bilateral scientific exchanges, the Fulbright Program, and other academic exchanges, directly refuting the commonly held belief that it is difficult to obtain a student visa to the United States, noting that nearly 97% of all student visa applicants obtain their U.S. visas – and most within three days.
