Jason Rebholz is currently serving as the Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy Jakarta. Jason has served as the Counselor for Public Diplomacy since April 2023 and previously managed the U.S. participation at the G20 in Bali as the Embassy’s G20 Coordinator. Before arriving in Indonesia, Jason served as Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Russia. Prior to that assignment, Jason served in Washington as Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Office of Korean Affairs, Senior Adviser for Platforms in the Bureau of International Information Programs, and Director of Public Affairs for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. Previous overseas assignments include Jakarta, Indonesia; Chennai, India; and Seoul, Republic of Korea. Jason joined the State Department as a Public Diplomacy Officer in 2002; a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, he holds the rank of Counselor. He has studied Indonesian, Russian, Korean, and French. Jason is married to fellow Foreign Service Officer, T. Katharine Rebholz; they have two school-aged sons.
