What It Is

  • Unique opportunity for selected Indonesian University students to learn about working for the U.S. Mission to Indonesia and ASEAN.
  • Opportunities are open for all degree programs.

Types of Programs:

  • 3- month Internship
  • 6- month Internship
  • 12-month Internship

This 2019, we have terms of internship duration:

* 3-month program: begins or around June 24, 2019, ends on August 30, 2019
* 6-month program: begins or around June 24, 2019, ends on December 24, 2019
* 12-month program: begins or around June 24, 2019, ends on May 24, 2020

How the Process Works?

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • Indonesian citizen
  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Current university student with minimum GPA 2.75 with proof university transcript submitted
  • English literate
  • Personal medical insurance
  • Students must be in their 3rd year of a Bachelors program or in 1st year in a Masters program.
  • No compensation or benefits.

Selection and Offer

  • The HR Office reviews all applications. Approved applications are forwarded to the appropriate selecting official.
  • Once the selecting official has interviewed students and made selections,
  • HR extends conditional offer letters, contingent upon successful security and medical certifications. The medical appointment is paid by the U.S. Government

Hours expected each day may vary from intern to intern depending on agreement with the supervisor and type of internship (e.q. 4, 6, 8 hours daily)

FNSIP 2019 Time Frame

  • Advertised on JobsDB.com : February 20 – March 6, 2019
  • S. Embassy review : March 7 – 21, 2019
  • Interview : March 22– April 5, 2019
  • Conditional Offer : April 8 – 12, 2019 (by email)
  • Clearances process : April 15 – May 31, 2019
  • Formal Offer : June 3 – 7, 2019 (by email)

Internship First Day: June 17 or 24, 2019 – depends on start date
Official work hours : 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM
Day: Monday to Friday
Professional clothing is required – appropriate to office environment.
