Enhancing Maritime Security & Cooperation: Equipment & Training Increase Local Capabilities

On August 28, the Acting Deputy Chief of Mission from the U.S. Embassy and the Director General of the Indonesian Sea and Coast Guard (KPLP), presided over a law enforcement training equipment handover ceremony in Jakarta.  Consisting of specialized equipment for combat skills training exercises and training exercises on boarding ships and apprehending suspects, the materials will be utilized by the U.S. Coast Guard to conduct a future boarding officer training course for 24 KPLP officials, and a ‘train the trainer’ course for 12 KPLP instructors.
