Fitness enthusiasts and curious members of the public gathered on the afternoon of January 26 at @america in the Pacific Place mall to learn about health, fitness, and the phenomenon called “CrossFit.” Coaches Luke and Karina from CrossFit Senayan delivered a presentation on healthy habits, proper diet, and the importance of exercise. Stressing the importance of functional movements, they then put these lessons into practice and invited members of the audience on-stage to test drive some of the fitness principles of CrossFit. From jumping rope to kettle bell swings to burpees, attendees at the event got a crash course in CrossFit and a sample of the community aspect that has allowed it to spread from the U.S. around to world, including here in Indonesia.
