U.S. Consulate representatives and government representatives visited American company Mars’ coral reef restoration project on May 27, 2015 in Makassar. Representatives dove and planted about 100 square meters of new coral “spiders” to continue building on Mars’ reef rehabilitation project.

“Indonesia is the steward of the world’s most important and largest marine biodiversity legacies,” CG Monserrate said. “Protecting marine resources ensures sustainable livelihoods for the people of Sulawesi and other Indonesian islands and stemming the tide of climate change. Both the United States and Indonesia are committed to protecting the environment, and are proud to be joined by responsible investors like Mars in safeguarding these important marine resources.”
