Juha P. Salin began serving as the Principal Officer of U.S. Consulate in Medan, Indonesia, in July 2016. Previously, he served in the Office of South East Asia and the Pacific at the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office (USTR) as the Country Director covering Malaysia, Burma, Brunei, and the Philippines. Prior to returning to Washington, D.C., Juha served as Political and Economic Counselor in Helsinki and Deputy Economic Counselor in Kuala Lumpur.
He also previously served in Afghanistan, Sweden, and Ethiopia. Before joining the Foreign Service, he worked in the technology industry in the Seattle, WA area for 10 years. He is alumnae of Georgetown University, Helsinki School of Economics, and Harvard University / Harvard Business School.
