Pacific Partnership 2014 opened on May 26 with the participation of the East Nusa Tenggara government and the navies of four countries (Indonesia, U.S. Singapore, New Zealand). The event, now in its eighth year, is a humanitarian joint exercise focused on medical and construction assistance, and disaster management planning.

The projects are designed to be completed by June 9, and include rebuilding and expanding schools and medical clinics, providing direct medical and veterinary care, and training Indonesian colleagues in new or alternative methods in their respective fields.  The Pacific Partnership highlights the United States commitment to Asia, and Indonesia in particular, through the Comprehensive Partnership.
