Strengthening Maritime Security through Indonesian-U.S. Coast Guard Training

On Friday, September 19 Ambassador Blake along with Director General of Sea Transportation Bobby Mamahit congratulated the 24 KPLP (Indonesian Coast Guard) officers who completed the two week Boarding Officer Course taught by four instructors from the U.S. Coast Guard.  This course was a part of the Department of State’s Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) office’s assistance to train officers to board and inspect vessels at sea in Indonesian waters, in conjunction with EXBS’s donations of law enforcement training equipment.  The Ambassador noted: “I appreciate of the strong collaborative relationship that is established between the KPLP and the Export Control and Border Security Program.  It is my hope that our collective efforts will ultimately produce a secure global maritime environment for the benefit of all of our nations.”
