Through Indonesian Eyes: Muslims in America

On October 8, over 150 journalists, university students, and community activists gathered at a U.S. Embassy organized seminar and discussed pluralism, the growing positive views on Islam in America, and Indonesia’s perspectives on the United States with three panelists who are Alumni of U.S. Government-sponsored programs and a prominent Indonesian-American Imam. The panelists included two female journalists, one who is a senior editor for one of Indonesia’s premiere daily newspapers and provided original inspiration for the program.  This program showcased the value of expanded discourse on U.S.-Indonesia cooperation and ties, and also received wide media coverage.
