U.S. Citizen Services

Applicants coming to the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy cannot bring large personal electronic devices to the Embassy. Those items include but are not limited to: laptops, iPads, tablet devices, handheld gaming devices, cameras, and digital watches. The Embassy local guard force cannot store laptops and large electronic devices for customers. Please make arrangements to leave large devices elsewhere before arriving at the U.S. Embassy to avoid inconveniences.

Welcome to American Citizen Services (ACS) for U.S. Mission Indonesia. We provide a range of services and information. All non-emergency consular services, including passport applications, notarizations and reports of birth abroad, require an appointment. We will not accept walk-ins. This assists us in providing prompt and efficient consular services to American Citizens residing in and visiting Indonesia. We provide American Citizen Services at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya, and the U.S. Consular Agency in Denpasar, Bali. The U.S. government facilities are closed on both Indonesian and U.S. holidays and weekends.

Fees (PDF – 87 KB) for consular services may be paid in cash (Indonesian Rupiah only) or credit card (Visa, American Express, Diner’s Club or Discover). Debit cards are not accepted and there are no ATMs in the Embassy. Applicants should consider bringing Indonesian Rupiah cash in case credit card payment is not available.
