Relationship DNA Test Instructions for U.S. Citizenship & Immigration
The party either in Indonesia or in the U.S. contacts an American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) accredited laboratory in the U.S to request a DNA kit, see AABB locations at: http://www.aabb.org/Content/Accreditation/Parentage_Testing_Accreditation_Program/
The selected laboratory sends testing kits via USPS express mail to the U.S. Embassy’s domestic U.S. address at:
U.S. Embassy Jakarta, CONS, FPO AP 96520 USA
Or via courier service (e.g. FEDEX, DHL, etc.) to the U.S. Embassy’s local address at:
U.S. Embassy Jakarta, CONS, 5 Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta Pusat 10110, Indonesia
We will inform the Indonesian party after we receive the kit. We invite the Indonesian party and one of the U.S. Embassy approved physicians to collect buccal samples at the U.S. Embassy, Consular Section, Window 1 on any workday afternoon, 2-3 pm, by prior appointment.
On the DNA collection appointment date, the Indonesian party must appear at the Embassy with passports and one passport photograph.
The Embassy approved physician or assistant will collect the sample at Window 1 in the presence of a U.S. consular officer.
The consular officer will take custody of the sample and send it to the preselected AABB lab in the U.S.
The AABB lab will directly send the results to the U.S. Embassy.
Once the U.S. Embassy receives the results, it will inform the parties.
No expenses are borne by the U.S. government. All expenses are the responsibility of the interested parties and must be paid in advance, including shipping.
