JAKARTA – Representatives from 20 U.S. universities and colleges will engage with eager Indonesian students in Malang on October 5, Jakarta on October 8, and Yogyakarta on October 10 at the annual EducationUSA U.S. Graduate Fairs.
“An investment in studying in the United States is an investment in your future,” says Jonathan Alan, U.S. Consul General in Surabaya, who will open the series in Malang. “U.S. universities bring together students and faculty from around the world, with diverse perspectives and experiences, to ensure that your learning will continue beyond the classroom.”
University booths will include Carnegie Mellon University, Dallas Baptist University, Georgetown University, Gonzaga University, Harvard University, Indiana University at Bloomington, Johns Hopkins University, Katz School of Science and Health Yeshiva University, Missouri University of Science and Technology, New York University, North Carolina State University, SUNY at Albany, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Illinois (Urbana Champaign), University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) University of Missouri, University of Nevada (Las Vegas), University of Rhode Island, and Yale University.
While university representatives will primarily be recruiting for students applying to master’s and PhD programs in the United States, the fairs will also feature information sessions for students seeking short-term exchanges and undergraduate programs.
Prospective students will have the chance to speak with university representatives along with representatives from the Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), the Fulbright Commission (AMINEF), and the U.S. Embassy. The fairs will also feature sessions on application and essay writing tips, personal branding, and scholarship opportunities.
