While in Jakarta September 30, U.S. Department of Agriculture Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Ted McKinney joined U.S. dairy industry leaders at meetings to discuss enhancing links between U.S. dairy exporters and Indonesian importers.
“The United States and Indonesia have a strong bilateral agricultural trade relationship, and dairy products are a major component of that relationship,” McKinney said. “Our two nations already enjoy a mutually beneficial agricultural trade relationship, and I am here to strengthen that. I am looking forward to meeting with Indonesian officials to discuss new and expanded business opportunities for U.S. dairy exporters.”
In addition to participating in the meetings on dairy exports, Under Secretary McKinney met with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to discuss the contribution of U.S. ethanol to Indonesia’s energy needs as well as Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Agriculture to discuss opportunities for U.S. beef exports to Indonesia. Under Secretary McKinney also held a meeting with Ministry of Trade to discuss further enhancing the U.S.-Indonesia bilateral agriculture trade relationship.
