U.S. Power Working Group for Indonesia Kicks Off

On September 2, U.S. Embassy Jakarta organized the official launch event for the U.S. Power Working Group for Indonesia (PWG).  In his opening remarks Ambassador Blake expressed U.S. government and industry’s strong support for the Jokowi Administration’s 35,000 MW development program. During the launch, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Said and Ambassador Blake signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will provide the official framework for continued activities. Two hundered participants, including 37 U.S. companies, Indonesian power executives, and government officials attended this event.  This forum was an opportunity for Indonesian officials to present their plans for  implementing the 35,000 Megawatt program, and PWG company delegates showcased what their firms can provide as a complement.
